SJ Prio


SJ is the biggest railway company in Sweden. The brief SJ gave us was to give more value to their frequent travelers and give a more positive image of SJ to all their travelers. The channel through which they wanted us to work through was iPhone apps, and the target group frequent travelers part of SJ Prio.

SJ Prio is a loyalty program where SJ offer their travelers a membership. Through this membership travelers can earn points by shopping train tickets, event tickets or refreshments in the on board bistro. The SJ Prio card can also be combined with Master Card, thereby letting travelers earn points on all purchases. These points can then be spent on new train tickets, event tickets or in the o board bistro.

As a reply to this brief we did the concept and design of a iPhone app, available to anyone via the on board WiFi, and to the SJ Prio members via login. As an extension of this we wanted to change the way that SJ work with tickets and payment on board. We showed a short movie on how this could work and got a great response.

The SJ Prio-application we created was presented by SJ to Oracle as well as Apple, and was also presented at Oracle OpenWorld 2009. You can read about the Oracle Open World-presentation of our SJ Prio application here.

As a bonus we also created the concept of a Facebook app. Using SJ.se's booking system and Facebook we wanted to show people how easy, soon and chep you can go and visit your friends. The app was named "billiga vänner" and allows you to see in your feed and on friends pages when you can go visit them at the least cost.
